Telos4africa Weekly Update #1

BLOCKCHAIN TECH + TELOS NETWORK + TELOS 4 AFRICA

The word “Blockchain” has been among the top most discussed topics on the internet in recent times. Even at that, there are a lot of individuals that are yet to know what this revolution is all about. In this article, I will be giving a brief definition of what Blockchain is and how beneficial it could be to its adopters.

In 2016, the authors’ Blockchain Revolution,  Don & Alex Tapscott defined Blockchain as an incorruptible digital ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.

The above definition simply implies that we can bring up just about anything to be built on top of the Blockchain. This brings us to the different benefits of running a project on the Blockchain.

There are a lot of advantages to adopting the Blockchain technology and we’ll see how beneficial it is to every individual of various art forms.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a lot of newly evolved and physical projects being deployed on the  Blockchain to gain transparency. This leads me to list out a few benefits for a project to adopt the Blockchain technology. Below are the advantages of Blockchain technology;

  • Decentralization
  • Transparency
  • Security
  • Improved efficiency and speed
  • Affordable

As listed above, one good example of a blockchain-based project utilizing the great features of Blockchain Technology is the Telos Network Foundation

Telos Blockchain Network

The Telos blockchainTelos is a networked ecosystem enabling visionary leaders and communities to work together to build a new global economy.

The Telos Foundation has no core team but a community of members (open to anyone) that has the right to vote for a proposed idea.  No single entity/body is controlling the system. This is proof that the Telos Network Foundation is a good example of a decentralized system.  Head over to this part of the Telos website, as I show you the beauty of the project as its features are listed as follows;

  • Trail – Voting as a Service
  • Work Proposals
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Build autonomous corporations
  • Move digital assets instantly
  • Access a truly global economy

Telos4Africa

The main aim of this article is to introduce to you Telos4Africa; An initiative of a community of people teaching Africans about Blockchain and how to leverage both it and the Telos Network. Telos4Africa is a group of Blockchain enthusiasts that have volunteered themselves to spread the awesome working principles of Telos network and Blockchain technology in Africa.

Telos4Africa aims to onboard both Blockchain enthusiasts and those that are yet to adopt Blockchain technology to the Telos network.

For a well-planned activity, The Telos4Africa team leaders have carved out and categorized areas in which we would be focusing while we preach about the Blockchain to the continent. Below are the lists of activities that are available via the Telos4Africa initiative.
